We had an A380 by Emirates to Dubai, where we just had time for the wash room and to grab something to drink, as the next flight to Singapore was already boarding.

It was amazing how many friends came to have a drink with us before our leave. We actually planned to have just a “Glühwein” (hot wine – it was cold at home in late November), but we had such a great time (and a nice surprise present – thanks, guys!), so we just couldn’t walk away easily.
Every travel guide like this:
- Sleep long enough before boarding!
- Avoid alcohol before a long flight!

Next morning it was obviously a bit tough to get up and travel to the airport. Fortunately, we had a great parental taxi service. Big thanks to our parents (-in-law). After a heartful goodbye our world trip finally started.
Hello world!
Welcome to our travel blog!
We’re a just-married-couple* from Switzerland taking three months off to discover the world – a round-trip with main focus on Australia and New Zealand.
Even though we and probably most of our readers are German-speaking, we decided to write this blog in English, also to make it easier to share it with the whole world. Well, and to train our favorite foreign language, too.
End of November, we’ll travel from Zurich to Singapore via Dubai to spend two nights, before arriving in Perth, WA. From ther we’ll drive up to Broome with a 4WD-RV and explore the beauties of West Australia. Next stop is Sydney before our short outback tour in the Red Center. We’ll then fly to Cairns and explore the eastern coast incl. Great Barrier Reef till Brisbane.
New Zealand will be amazing, we’ll have four weeks for both islands with a self-contained RV.
By then we should have deserved vacation from vacation which we’ll surely get on a very(!) small Island of Fiji.
From there, Hawaii is not that far away. We’re going to do some island-hopping between Oahu, Kauai, Maui and Big Island.
Before returning home (sigh!) we’ll do a stop-over in San Francisco. We’ll be back in Switzerland by mid of March 2019.
